I choose Marianne Phoebe Elliott , a British theatre director. Elliot is the daughter of Michael Elliot, who was a co-founder and Royal Exchange director in Manchester and Rosalind Knight, an actress. Elliot is quite interesting because as a child she highly detested theatrical career which fate had plunged her into, having been surrounded with theatre enthusiast all her years. In her later years, she found herself in the theatrical world as she went on to study drama at Hull University. She had a swift career as a play director; she began working at Royal Exchange, where she worked her way up to an artistic director. In 2002 she made a debut with Pillar of the community a Henrik Ibsen play, she then received a callback in 2008 for Saint Joan featuring Anne-Marie Duff, the play later received recognition for the Olivier Award for Best Revival. Then it followed a series of successful directions, the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time and War Horse which won the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play in 2011. In 2016, she started her own theatre company teaming up with Chris Harper, a theatre producer to form Elliott & Harper Productions. Elliot also partook in many collaborations which sharped her theatrical edge to becoming an outstanding play director.

What made the plays Elliot directed unique or stand out in today's theatre is that her features in any of her play were able to chew out the scenery due to her distinctive attention to detail in a play. She did not want her audience to miss out on anything in that she would deliver and quench their thirst. Her theatrical imagination was surreal and brought out the play with an organized artistic view. Her entire play direction, she demonstrated a sense of harmony where all aspect of the play would flow systematically.
